Hi, I’m Rishik.
I’m a software development professional offering technical partnership to startups and non-technical founders. I help bridge the gap between business ideas and technology through architecture decisions, product execution, and growth-aligned solutions.

Why this practice exists
Almost every stalled project I’ve been asked to look at had the same shape. The code wasn’t the problem. Nobody had decided what to build first, so the feature list kept moving and development turned reactive.
The gap isn’t development. It’s the scoping and prioritisation that should happen before development starts, and it’s the part nobody sells, because it’s easier to quote a feature list than to argue with one.
That’s the work I do first, on every project.
TheHomeTaste
I was Technical Lead for TheHomeTaste, leading a three-person team that built the platform from scratch: a customer app, a cook app, and a driver app, plus an admin platform to run all three.
They were built in React Native, and two of them are live on the App Store and Google Play.
The full story (what was considered, what was deliberately not built, and why) is being written up as a case study.
Why one person is an advantage
There’s no account manager. The person who scopes the work is the person who writes the code, so nothing gets lost between the two.
The trade-off is capacity: I take on fewer projects at once, on purpose. If I’m not the right fit for a timeline, I’d rather say so at the first conversation than discover it at week six.
Technical principles
- Plan first, build second. Always.
- Say what you won’t build as clearly as what you will.
- Explain every technical recommendation in plain language.
- Reduce scope before reducing quality.
- Hand over everything: code, credentials, documentation.
What those look like in practice (communication, revisions, scope changes, Everything you receive at the end: source code, deployment setup, documentation explaining what was built and why, credentials, and a walkthrough. You own the final deliverables once the project is paid in full.) is written out on how I work.
Context
DevAxis is based in Ontario, Canada. I work with founders through the Conestoga Entrepreneurship Collective and the Gig Lab program, and remotely with founders elsewhere in Canada and the US.
Want to know what I’d do with your product?
Tell me where it stands. You’ll get a straight answer, including if the answer is that you’re not ready to hire a developer yet.
